Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club Melvin Jones Birthday Party Celebration – January 13th, 2026
During the Melvin Jones Birthday party celebration, twenty committed members representing six Albuquerque clubs gathered to commemorate the event. The gathering fostered a spirit of unity, enabling participants to review their shared accomplishments, cultivate collaborative efforts, and engage in meaningful discussions rooted in the Lions Club’s core values of service, compassion, and community engagement.

Los Leones de Mesilla News
Los Leones de Mesilla in January although they did not meet on their regular meeting dates. I had visited Las Cruces De Noche and learned of 24 Blessing Bags they were assembling for Feb 14 distribution to the homeless. Lion Lucy arranged the donation of toothbrushes and Lion Susie donated complimentary toothpaste. We donated over 70 pounds of canned goods to Casa de Perigrinos on Jan 22nd. Ms. Hollie Gildar, Burrell college, assisted with a donation of 50 pounds.

Albuquerque Breakfast and Edgewood Lions Clubs Join Forces
Members of the Albuquerque Breakfast and Edgewood Lions Clubs volunteered at the Roadrunner Food Bank on January 5th as part of the Lions International Hunger Week of Service. The members worked filled, sealed, labeled and packed twenty 1 pound bags of food in 20 boxes that will be given to food pantries across central New Mexico.
