Farmington Evening Lions Club Donates to the Four Corners Stockman’s Association
Jennifer Halphen (second from the left), President of the Four Corners Stockman’s Association (FCSA) was invited to do a presentation at the Farmington Evening Lions Club meeting to introduce the FCSA and its work to the club. One of the Global Causes for the Lions Clubs is Youth Empowerment bringing the work of FCSA to the forefront.


Farmington Evening Lions Club – Eyeglass Counting on April 18, 2026
Our community is very generous to donate their used eyeglasses. This is the second
counting we have done this year alone. We counted 1387 prescription glasses and 292 Readers and Sunglasses and have cases for almost all of the prescription glasses. Our club had 10 Club members who came out to support us and/or count glasses.


One Last Chance to CHAT with the DG
One last chance to CHAT with the DG is coming on June 22nd - come to our ZOOM meeting with your favorite beverage and let's talk about this past year - what went right and what could we improve for next year. ANNUAL SPRING BBQ AT VA HOSPITAL IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM
On May 13, 2026, Trudi Lynn, VIST Coordinator at the New
Mexico VA Hospital, invited Lions members to serve the Visual Impaired Veterans at their annual spring BBQ. Lions’ members from Albuquerque Breakfast and Edgewood Clubs reported from 10 am to 2 pm, ready to work.

Officer Training Announcement
I am pleased to announce upcoming Officer Training designed for all club officers, new members, and any Lions who would like a refresher course. This training will provide important information, resources, and tools to help strengthen your club, improve communication, and to support you to have a successful year. Ruidoso Evening News
The Ruidoso Evening Lions helped the Ruidoso Warrior Special Olympians to raise $4,000.00 at their Spaghetti dinner. International Director Lion Melissa Washburn visited Ruidoso, along with her husband Librarian Johnny Washburn & her partner in service Lion Gemma Ferguson to induct new members and officers. She also presented a very special Melvin Jones replacement plaque to Lion Sam Pirelli. Sam lost his home in the devastating floods last year. We inducted four new members

Lions enough for their support through the second half of this year. We didn’t sell all
of our Raffle tickets but generous Club donations helped to make up the difference.
There aren’t sufficient words to express our gratitude to all the Lions who participated.


The Hand Project
Recently our club members (Carlsbad Community Lions Club), along with some help from the Carlsbad Downtown Lions Club members participated in The Hand Project - assembling prosthetic hand kits that will help restore independence, confidence, and opportunity for individuals around the world.

Edgewood Lions 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair
Edgewood Lions Club will host its 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair on Friday, June 12th at the Edgewood Senior Center from 9 am - 1 pm. The Edgewood Lions will be doing Vision Screening and offering free eyeglasses for those qualified, collecting used eyeglasses, and the NM Diabetes Awareness Program will be there to do Diabetes screening. Ruidoso Evening Lions Donations
The Keep Ruidoso Downs Beautiful and Parks Program requested donations from the Ruidoso Evening Lions Club. They were seeking Baskets and bicycles. We were able to donate two bikes and six baskets. We also volunteered our time to help pass out baskets and toys and. We are already brainstorming with the Keep Ruidoso Downs Beautiful and Parks team about how we can help even more next year.

For our environment service project we had the privilege of partnering with River Crossing Ministries. The deviation of the floods last year left the area behind the church leading up to the river scattered with debris, fallen limbs and dirt. They were in need of help cleaning up the area behind the church. With the help of church staff and volunteers and Lions volunteers we were able to make the area more beautiful and safe for the community. Serving together makes everythin
