FRIDAY POPCORN AT THE VA HOSPITAL IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM
Lions Larry Langdon and Carol Marshall of the Albuquerque Breakfast Lions Club have been popping popcorn at the VA Hospital on Fridays. We started in June 2025. Popcorn is available at the VA Hospital on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We are the Friday Poppers. We report on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Moriarty Lions served the Veteran community by serving hot chocolate and water to the motorcycle escorts for the memorial wall dedication of names added this year. There was at least a hundred riders in the escort.

What a busy month March has been and April is looking very similar at the moment. We had a very good Q3 Cabinet meeting in Moriarty and a successful service project. This project was a bit different, we combined a couple of aspects of Community together by meeting people at the door of a local restaurant and giving them tickets for their drinks. Celebrating a very successful Mardi Gras/Valentine fundraiser Feb. 14, Sandia Mountain Lions Club was pleased to join with Moriarty Lions Club with members of both cooperating for the event. We are grateful for support from the community, neighboring Edgewood Lions Club, and District 40 Governor Frankie Davis. All proceeds with help both Clubs support community and international Lions projects.

Lions Clubs International Foundation
As LCIF Coordinator for District 40, I ask for your club’s support in advancing the Lions Clubs International Foundation mission of empowering volunteers and serving communities. Currently, 19 out of 46 New Mexico clubs have contributed to LCIF; our goal is to increase participation by June 2026. A suggested donation of $20 per member will help us reach more people and work toward a 50% club donation goal.
