ANNUAL SPRING BBQ AT VA HOSPITAL IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM
On May 13, 2026, Trudi Lynn, VIST Coordinator at the New
Mexico VA Hospital, invited Lions members to serve the Visual Impaired Veterans at their annual spring BBQ. Lions’ members from Albuquerque Breakfast and Edgewood Clubs reported from 10 am to 2 pm, ready to work.

The May issue of 'Albuquerque The Magazine' featured "Incredible Kids," a column about our 2025-26 Peace Poster Merit Award winner Haven Cook, along with a photo of her holding the poster. Also in May, a picture of the poster and an explanation of it was posted in the East Mountain Library, giving our Lions Club project even more publicity. What a weekend! Thank you to everyone who joined us in Carlsbad for the 98th Annual NM/AZ Lions State Convention. From the fellowship to the service, it was a resounding success! 🦁 It was a privilege to host such a dedicated group, and it’s fair to say a wonderful time was had by all!


Edgewood Lions 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair
Edgewood Lions Club will host its 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair on Friday, June 12th at the Edgewood Senior Center from 9 am - 1 pm. The Edgewood Lions will be doing Vision Screening and offering free eyeglasses for those qualified, collecting used eyeglasses, and the NM Diabetes Awareness Program will be there to do Diabetes screening. Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Announcement
The Rio Grande Lions Club will not be supporting the May 2026 Special Olympics Healthy Athletes event. This is due to Special Olympics funding issues for their Healthy Athletes Program. We are hopeful that we will be supporting the Las Cruces event in Oct 2026.

Clovis Evening Lions Gun Show
Clovis Evening Lions had their Gun, Knife and Coin Show on March 13-15, 2026. We have two shows a year and have an average of 60 vendors. We had two special guests at our Gun Show this time, 2nd Vice District Governor Cisco Knox and Ruidoso Club President Jessica Knox came to our Show and spent the weekend with us. It is always a pleasure when someone takes time to come visit us and enjoy the Gun Show. We had a Scavenger Hunt for the kids this time, which was a huge success.


Cornhole Tournament
1st Vice District Governor Joel Edwards and Clovis Club President Christi Edwards attended the VFW Cornhole Tournament to help support their group. Needless to say, there was double elimination and yes that's exactly how we went D-O-W-N!!! Two young ladies beat us the first game and then to young kids beat us the second time. I will definitely be more prepared for the next tournament, more than likely bribing someone to take my place!! All jokes aside, having an alliance with


Clovis Evening Lions help Floyd Lions
Clovis Evening Lions have been helping Floyd Lions with their Jamboree for a few years now. It is so neat to hear local talent sing and also to get hear Will Banister. This year was the 73rd year they have held their Jamboree. We also had a special guest helper, District Governor Frankie Davis came to the Jamboree and helped with admission.
