Two new members were inducted by PDG Bobby Richardson at the April 1 meeting of Sandia Mountain Lions Club. Anthony (Tony) Mittas was sponsored by Lion Sammie Hutchison, and Wesley (Wes) Harris was sponsored by his wife, Lion Rena Harris. Both new Lions had come to at least three Club activities before submitting their applications, and are already active participants.

Clovis Evening Lions help our city Library with their Adult Summer Reading Program. It is always a great feeling knowing we possibly helped someone better their life through reading.

Clovis Evening Lions has started a new project to help people in need of a meal. We have teamed up with Foxy's Drive In and Matt 25 Hope Center to provide a meal to someone in need. Foxy's will give the person a few meal choices and then will get them fed. Matt 25 is our local non-profit organization that helps people with any need they may have. They will give an individual a meal ticket that they can bring to Foxy's. Pay It Forward.

Edgewood Lions Club will host its 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair on Friday, June 12th at the Edgewood Senior Center from 9 am - 1 pm. The Edgewood Lions will be doing Vision Screening and offering free eyeglasses for those qualified, collecting used eyeglasses, and the NM Diabetes Awareness Program will be there to do Diabetes screening. The Keep Ruidoso Downs Beautiful and Parks Program requested donations from the Ruidoso Evening Lions Club. They were seeking Baskets and bicycles. We were able to donate two bikes and six baskets. We also volunteered our time to help pass out baskets and toys and. We are already brainstorming with the Keep Ruidoso Downs Beautiful and Parks team about how we can help even more next year.

The Ruidoso Little Leaguers were in need! A local community member let us know that the ball tosser was shredding balls and hurting kids. They didn't have the proper ball tossing machine that the small players needed. Thanks to the generosity of Lions and our local community, enough money was raised for two ball toss machines. One for Ruidoso and one for near by Capitan as well.

For our environment service project we had the privilege of partnering with River Crossing Ministries. The deviation of the floods last year left the area behind the church leading up to the river scattered with debris, fallen limbs and dirt. They were in need of help cleaning up the area behind the church. With the help of church staff and volunteers and Lions volunteers we were able to make the area more beautiful and safe for the community. Serving together makes everythin

The Rio Grande Lions Club will not be supporting the May 2026 Special Olympics Healthy Athletes event. This is due to Special Olympics funding issues for their Healthy Athletes Program. We are hopeful that we will be supporting the Las Cruces event in Oct 2026.

Los Leones de Mesilla 22nd Annual Car Show

Clovis Evening Lions had their Gun, Knife and Coin Show on March 13-15, 2026. We have two shows a year and have an average of 60 vendors. We had two special guests at our Gun Show this time, 2nd Vice District Governor Cisco Knox and Ruidoso Club President Jessica Knox came to our Show and spent the weekend with us. It is always a pleasure when someone takes time to come visit us and enjoy the Gun Show. We had a Scavenger Hunt for the kids this time, which was a huge success.

1st Vice District Governor Joel Edwards and Clovis Club President Christi Edwards attended the VFW Cornhole Tournament to help support their group. Needless to say, there was double elimination and yes that's exactly how we went D-O-W-N!!! Two young ladies beat us the first game and then to young kids beat us the second time. I will definitely be more prepared for the next tournament, more than likely bribing someone to take my place!! All jokes aside, having an alliance with

Clovis Evening Lions have been helping Floyd Lions with their Jamboree for a few years now. It is so neat to hear local talent sing and also to get hear Will Banister. This year was the 73rd year they have held their Jamboree. We also had a special guest helper, District Governor Frankie Davis came to the Jamboree and helped with admission.

The monthly meeting was held March 4 at First Baptist/Vista Grande Church in Tijeras with Lion Rena Harris heading the potluck meal. Highlight was the visit and talk by DG Frankie Davis who told about his recent Lions service visits abroad. President Sarah Berry was pleased to report that two guests attending, Wes Harris and Tony Mittas, later submitted their applications for Lions membership. Approval was given through an email vote by Club members.

Farmington Evening Lions Club recently lost Lion Gary Lund. Gary joined our club on October 1, 2001. One of Gary’s favorite projects was the Pancake Breakfast. He worked all stations and always had a smile!! He was great to get sponsors for all of our Fundraising Projects. The joke was, he could get anyone to donate. Some have said that it may have been their way to get him to leave. (Joke!) He had the gift of gab! We will miss that!
