Sometimes the best community service projects are the ones filled with laughter, good food, and a little problem-solving. Recently, the Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club brought all three together for the residents of the Wellsley Home.

When the group arrived to host a BBQ lunch, they quickly discovered that the bag of chips was sealed tighter than Fort Knox. The solution? A trusty pocket knife saved the day, and the meal was officially on! Residents enjoyed a delicious BBQ, complete with sides, and the camaraderie of sharing a meal together.
After lunch, the fun continued with a lively round of “Pass the Potato,” filling the room with smiles and laughter for a good half-hour. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about connection, joy, and showing care for members of the community.
As District Governor Lion Frankie Davis put it, “What a great and very rewarding project.” The Albuquerque Northeast Lions once again showed that service is about more than just meeting needs—it’s about creating moments that people will cherish.
