Anthony Lions Club News

The Anthony Lions Club participated in a Health Fair being hosted by the American Legion Post on Friday, November 21st from 09:00 - 4:00 pm. Lions Hector Giron and Lion Brenda Dunn (Las Cruces de Noche Club) set up tables with the selection of frames and the free glasses applications. Other Lions assisting during the event were Lions Javier, Herman, and Susie (Los Leones de Mesilla).   

The Anthony Lions club hosted a Community Feast for the community of Anthony on Sunday, November 23rd, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The event took place at the St. Anthony Catholic church parish hall. The cooks for the event were the Knights of Columbus - these folks work very well and put together a delicious meal. Lion Dutch and Susie from Los Leones de Mesilla were on site assisting on Saturday to set up the parish hall with table and chairs and returned Sunday to help. The honor roll Gadsden high school students were present on Saturday to help and on Sunday, they helped with slicing 100 pumpkin pies and keeping the ice tea cups filled and ready. Lion Hector Giron thanked all who made this possible to include Lion’s clubs who generously donated items needed or provided monetary donations. Together - WE Served!
