Leader Dog Brick Presentation to Lion Mary Marley
On Saturday, December 13th, PCC Wesley W. Brown, Jr., Club President, presented a certificate to Lion Mary Marley for the large brick that will be laid on the brick walkway at the Leader Dog facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan, to honor PID Ray Marley (deceased) and Lion Mary Marley.
PID Ray was a guiding influence for Farmington Evening Lions Club and will be remembered for his contributions to Lionism. Lion Mary played a key supportive role as PID Ray’s wife, traveling with him and being involved in Lionism in her own right.
Thank you, PID Ray and Lion Mary for all you have done to support Lionism!
FARMINGTON EVENING LIONS CLUB – BELL RINGING FOR SALVATION ARMY
On Saturday, December 6th, we had 4 teams, numbering a total of 9 Lions, that rang the bell for Salvation Army outside of the Hobby Lobby store. This is a Service Project that we take part in every Christmas season. It gives us the opportunity to meet the community and help gather donations for the needy that are serviced by the Salvation Army.
Christmas Party at The Bridge Assisted Living Facility
Saturday, December 6th, 2025 was a very busy day for the Farmington Evening Lions Club. Our day began with the Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army then we put our party hats on and went to The Bridge Assisted Living Center to distribute gifts and visit with the residents that were in attendance.

Every resident was given a gift bag with warm winter gloves, a warm neck scarf, a beanie cap, and a lap blanket. They were so happy to receive the gifts. Most of them were unsure if the items were for them to keep. We visited with them and reassured them that they did indeed belong to them. Their faces lit up and they all had large smiles.
Not all residents were sure of joining in so we stood out in the hallway and welcomed them. We presented the gifts to some residents out in the hallway, as they were confused.
One of the ladies that I drew in from the hallway, was reluctant to open her gift bag. I told her what was in it and she pulled out the gloves and put them on. The gloves had white fingertips on some of the fingers and she asked if that was to be able to use her phone with them on. I didn’t really know so she tried it. I thought she was going to dance around the room. She was so happy. She said that “Now my life is complete! I can use my phone and my hands are warm!”
All the residents thanked us with smiles and told us how much they appreciated them.
This was the best community project every! If you need a project to make someone’s day, you may want to consider this type of service activity. You will leave the facility feeling so happy!!

CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
On Saturday, December 13th, Farmington Evening Lions Club enjoyed celebrating Christmas and visiting with fellow Lions. There was plenty of great food!
Each year we gather to enjoy the food and comradery and to remember the Lions that we have lost, the projects that we have been involved with, and bat around ideas for the coming year.
Our Club Members are family and this time gives us a chance to connect and relax.
We would like to thank Lions Dr. Pat Montoya and Marilyn Montoya for opening their home to us each year for this! Marilyn always has games and fun planned. We even lose track of time.
