Albuquerque Breakfast Lions served as greeters for Joy Junction, New Mexico's Largest Emergency Homeless Shelter, at the Albuquerque downtown Convention Center on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. We served from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We greeted the volunteers and guests. There were 902 hungry guests and 241 volunteers. Doors opened for the guests from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The guests were not allowed to bring in beverages or food. They were allowed to bring their dogs in; there were dog treats for their pets. The guests were served a plate of turkey with all the trimmings. They were allowed to have as many helpings as needed.
Warm clothing was readily available for free. Scarves, gloves, coats, and more were there for the guests to take upon leaving. People left with bags of clothing and big smiles.
