The Lea County Fair kicked off on August 1st, and two young ladies were proudly representing the Princess competition.

Camila Rodriguez, the current Princess, is preparing to pass on her title. Hoping to follow in her footsteps is Joselyn Zepeda, a candidate for the upcoming year.

Both Camila and Joselyn visited the Lovington Lions Club  on July 17th, where they each spoke about their backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations. Also in attendance were Janie Gonzales Hernandez of the Hispanic Heritage Committee and her grandchildren, Ariana and Andrew Wilhoit.

The next Lea County Fair Princess will be crowned on August 1st at 5:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
