Lion PCC Richard Dutchover inducted the newest member, Dorothy Sellers on Oct 7th! She is excited to learn more about our events and eager to Serve! We also sang Happy Birthday to Lion Kaci - who celebrated the big “21” on the 8th! Photos posted on our club’s Facebook page.

Los Leones de Mesilla hosted their 21st Annual Car Show on Saturday, October 11th. It was a huge success!!!!!We had 100 registered participants; DJ supplying music and announcements; Silent auction with plenty of items ranging from decorative bottle openers, pictures, man cave items, Pistachio baskets, red chile baskets, to a 32” Vizio Tv and a gorgeous Michael Kors purse!!!! The Mad Street Barbeque vendor offered a variety of delicious plates! Our 50/50 winner received $277 - what a blessing! Even the weather cooperated and did not rain on our event. Thank you to our Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsors for their generous donations. Save the Date - October 10, 2026!!!!

Our Vision screening team involves two club members, Lion PCC Dutch and Lion Susie. They visited 12 elementary schools over six weeks to test 2,524 children and reported 522 students with vision problems. This team has worked the last three years offering their time for this worthy service project. Some people spend a lifetime wondering if they made a difference…..Lions don’t have that problem!

Lion PCC Richard Dutchover, Lions Susan Brusuelas (LLDM) and Lion Bryson McCool (La Mesa Lions) participated in the Great Pumpkin Candy Drop event held on Sunday, October 26th at MAAG Field in Las Cruces, NM. A table was set up to promote the six local Lions club and inform the public of the Free Glasses Program that Lion Brenda Dunn manages. The event was well attended and over 60 applications for glasses were distributed. Thank you Lions for helping spread the word!
