Every Christmas since 1947, the Raton Lions Club has worked diligently to build and maintain the City of Bethlehem for all visitors to enjoy.  This year, on Saturday, November 22nd they were joined by many volunteers from Raton and the surrounding communities.  Along with other volunteers, Lions Adella Garcia and Mary Ortiz have put in many hours to set up the display in the Climax Canyon and the Toyland along Apache Avenue, located in the heart of Raton.

Lions Adella and Mary also worked on Monday and Tuesday (November 24th and 25th) making sure the lights were working and all was ready for the opening on Friday, November 28th.  The gates opened at 6:00pm and will remain open for all to drive through and enjoy the story of Jesus. It also shows Mary and Joseph’s trials to get to Bethlehem for the birth of the Savior.  A sample of the displays is shown here. The display will remain open until January 1, 2026.
