Sandia Mountain Lions Club

Seven members of Sandia Mountain Lions Club judged 73 posters from Roosevelt Middle School for the 2025 LCI Peace Poster Contest with the theme, "Together As One." Gathering on November 2 at the Jones home, the winning poster was chosen by  Lions Peggy Smith, Sarah Berry. Steve Berry, Bob Jones, Gerry Jones, Steve-O Marucich and his wife Melissa Jansen. Families of the top three winning posters will be invited to the Club's January 7 meeting and treated to a pizza party at Los Vecinos Community Center.

The Club's November meeting was held at Flamez Restaurant in Cedar Crest on 11/5 with attendees including one prospective member and four visitors from Moriarty Lions Club. The latter, including Lion Angela Brasher, invited the Club to participate with her Club in the 2026 Mardi Gras Gala scheduled for February 14 at the Moriarty Lions Club House. We voted to join the project which will be led by the Moriarty Club.

SMLC also voted to hold another food collection activity December 13 to support the East Mountain Food Pantry which has been experiencing a much greater amount of need.  

The December meeting 12/3 will be a holiday potluck held at the Tijeras home of new member Rena Harris.
