With great regret, we announce the September 14 passing of Lion Errol Cox, 82, of Tijeras, NM, after years of dialysis treatments. His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Daniels Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque.

Lion Sharon Thompson pinned her new recruit Lion Alberto Flores at the September 3 meeting of Sandia Mountain Lions Club. PCC Robert Jones did the induction ceremony at the meeting held at the Baptist Church in Tijeras. Lion Alberto has been an active participant and guest at Club meetings for the past several years.

Dictionaries for Third Graders were presented to three classrooms at San Antonito Elementary School in Cedar Crest, NM, on September 12. Lion Janie Klatt and Gerry Jones assisted Project Chair PCC Bob Jones in showing some 70 children how to use the dictionaries. This is an annual project of SMLC.

Despite a rainy Saturday, the Club held a successful yard sale at the Jones driveway on September 27, with ten Lions either contributing or having fun and fellowship working. Set-up was Friday evening, and the sale was held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  As the tabled merchandise was wet, the remainder was moved inside the garage to dry.  Usable household merchandise was  held aside for a family without a current home and the rest taken to a local thrift shop. Members greatly appreciated the help of Rena Harris, formerly a Lion in Texas who has moved to Tijeras and applied for membership here.
