Lions of D40,
My apologies for not getting a letter into last month’s Roar.
It has been a busy time, International Convention in Orlando was a blast with lots of reconnecting with Lions from all over the world. It was great to be present to see our very own International Director Melissa take up office.
The number of Zoom meetings has only increased with new vibrant groups forming all the time. As a District we are now fully up and running with only minimal follow-up to International for passwords and adjustments. Please see elsewhere in this Roar for all your District officers and contact information for them.
We are currently encouraging all Clubs to get their information and officers entered into the Portal, this is very important so all Clubs can report their service. District admin Theo is always available to assist and tutor.
Our trainings have started and we welcome Lion Annie Miller to the role of GLT, who is providing these and is also available to assist ye all with online resources on the Portal.
WE have now established our Zones and Regions and all Clubs should have been contacted at this stage. DG and 1VDG are about to embark on visits and would love to participate in service projects if possible so please reach out to Lion Austyn to co-ordinate these visits.
Have ye all had a read of the new Roar, Facebook Forum and a visit to our new website? Our MarCom team have surpassed all expectations and deserve our deepest gratitude. Continued thanks to all of ye who submit articles and photos to make these more interesting and vibrant.
It is great to constantly be asked by Clubs for new member packets, looks like our District is growing. We must also focus on member retention, more hands on service is a great way to achieve this. There are quiet a few options in the works for new Clubs and Club revival and this is wonderful news.
Our first Cabinet meeting will be at the Club house in Ruidoso on September 6th and will be a Hybrid meeting. We are trying out a new format, start with coffee and fellowship, followed by a service project (off site on this occasion), return to Clubhouse for lunch. After lunch launch Zoom and have meeting, duration of no more than an hour. All reporting to be done electronically prior to meeting.
Yours in Service DG Frankie
