I am writing to formally introduce myself as the newly appointed LCIF (Lions Clubs International Foundation) coordinator for District 40. It is an honor to be taking on this role, and I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with all the Lions clubs within our district. I recently had the distinct pleasure of launching the "Roaring Hearts" project during the Ruidoso Evening Lions' Club's 85th Anniversary celebration. This event was a tremendous success, and I am particularly proud of the results we achieved.

During the anniversary celebration, we focused our fundraising efforts on supporting the vital work of LCIF, which is dedicated to transforming lives and providing essential services to communities in need. The community's response was truly heartwarming. Lion members from various clubs, along with their dedicated families and supportive friends, came together to make generous contributions. Through their collective efforts, we were able to raise nearly $1300. The event featured a variety of engaging items, including handcrafted little cub activity bags, attractive lion jewelry, and thoughtfully curated gift bags, all of which were generously purchased and greatly admired by attendees. These contributions will directly assist LCIF in achieving its annual fundraising goals for the state of New Mexico. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed so generously. Your support means the world to us.

Next month, stay tuned for how to symbolically adopt/sponsor a cuddly stuffed lion to support LCIF global causes.

If you have any questions about LCIF, the "Roaring Hearts" project, or how your club can contribute to our shared mission, please do not hesitate to contact me at roaringheartsnm@gmail.com. I am very much looking forward to visiting your clubs in the near future. During my visits, I will be able to share my ideas, further explain the Roaring Hearts project, and explore collaborative fundraising opportunities that we can pursue together to benefit LCIF.

With warmest roars,

Mary O'Hara, LCIF District 40 Coordinator
