FRIDAY POPCORN AT THE VA HOSPITAL IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM

Lions Larry Langdon and Carol Marshall of the Albuquerque Breakfast Lions Club have been popping popcorn at the VA Hospital on Fridays. We started in June 2025. Popcorn is available at the VA Hospital on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We are the Friday Poppers. We report on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Once the popcorn machine is heated, Lion Larry starts the popcorn popping. The smell of popcorn wafts into the hospital lobby and draws people to us. Lion Carol preps the popcorn bags ($1, $2, and $3) and collects the money. 100% of our intake is used to supplement the care and services provided to the Veteran patients and their families. We are pleased to report that for a seven (7) month period, and one (1) day a week of volunteering at the VA Hospital, our total monetary intake was $3,190.00.  Our Fridays are busy, but we are busy making people happy. That’s what Friday Popcorn is all about!
