An update regarding a recent and impactful community engagement initiative. On Wednesday, January 28th, Lion PCC Dutch and I proudly represented our organization at an event hosted by the Rio Grande Prep Institute (RGPI).

Our presence at the institute included a meticulously arranged informational booth, strategically designed to effectively communicate the profound mission of Lions Clubs International. We aimed to clearly articulate our unwavering dedication and commitment to serving and enriching our local communities, highlighting the diverse range of services and programs we offer.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn about our various initiatives, including detailed brochures pertaining to our strong support for programs such as Leader Dogs for the Blind. A significant aspect of our outreach involved making applications readily available for our Free Eyeglasses Program, an essential service aimed at improving vision and enhancing the quality of life for those in need. To further illustrate the assistance we provide, we also presented display cases showcasing various frame options.

A particularly fruitful outcome of our participation was the establishment of a connection with Ms. Amanda Martinez, a dedicated school counselor at RGPI. We are enthusiastic about fostering a collaborative relationship with Ms. Martinez to effectively identify and encourage deserving students to apply for our scholarship opportunities. We proudly shared that our esteemed scholarship program is formally known as "The Fred Apodaca Scholarship Fund," a designation that reflects our deep commitment to educational empowerment and community legacy.

We believe that such direct engagement is vital for strengthening our community partnerships and broadening the impact of Lions Club endeavors.

Warm regards,

Lion Susie
