March 2026
Lions and LEO’s of New Mexico
Did ye see the picture of our Peace Poster winner, 600,000 approximate number of applicants this year and we secured 1 of the 23 Merit awards. Way to go Haven Cook and Sandia Mountain Lions. It would be so awesome if every Club in the District followed up with their schools and had this program in every school.
Our District is now showing a growth of 27 members giving us a 3.2% increase. There is still time to meet our District targets and finish out the year on a strong note.
Our next Cabinet meeting will be in Moriarty on March 7th at the Lions Clubhouse, 515 Lions Court. Fellowship and coffee will start at 8am. There will be a local service project. Lunch will be cooked onsite and will cost $12. This will also be a hybrid meeting, look for the flier with zoom link elsewhere in this Roar. All Foundations and Chairs will be giving brief reports at this meeting.
Look also for the flier for our State Convention being held in Carlsbad on May 1 & 2, Past International President Doug Alexander from New York is our keynote speaker and this promises to be a wonderful event, you do not want to miss out on this great weekend of Lionism.
I am honored to be 1 of about 60 Lions to be invited to partake in a Global Service Week. We are going to Visakhapatnam, India. Our main mission is to eye screen 10,000 children in 5 days so it will be a busy time for sure.
The official call for nominations for candidates who wish to run for District offices has been issued. Please see it if you are interested in any of these positions, District Governor, 1st Vice District Governor and 2nd Vice District Governor.
A big thank you to Moriarty/Sandia Mtn Lions who invited me to their Mardi Gras party. It was a great evening of fellowship and fun and had a great turn out. Thank you also to the Edgewood Lions who came to show their support. How wonderful it is to be a Lion
